Kadrr is a screen capture app for Windows. Most of what it does never leaves your computer. This page says exactly what does, why, who handles it, and how to have it deleted.
What stays on your computer
Screenshots, recordings, GIFs, your capture history, your settings and the app's log are stored on your computer, in the folders you choose. Copying text from the screen is done by the text recognition built into Windows; the image is not sent anywhere. Kadrr has no analytics, no advertising and no tracking of how you use the app.
Nothing you capture leaves your computer until you press Upload, or drop a file onto the app to upload it.
What we collect, and why
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Your email address, your plan, when the account was created and last used | To sign you in with a link, and to apply your plan's limits |
| The IP address a sign-in link was requested from, kept with that link | To spot and stop abuse of the sign-in form |
| The devices you sign in on: the name you give each one, and when it was last used | So you can see them and sign any of them out |
| Files you upload, with their size, type, upload time, and the account and device that uploaded them | To host them behind your link, count them against your plan, and show them on your account page |
| Server logs: IP address, browser or app version, the address requested and when | To keep the service running and secure. Kept for a limited time, then rotated away |
| A session cookie on account.kadrr.cc | To keep you signed in to your account page. It is the only cookie we set |
The app also checks kadrr.cc for updates, and may download ffmpeg from it the first time you record. Those requests appear in the server logs like any other.
Who can see your uploads
Anyone with the link. An uploaded file is public to whoever has its address. The address contains a random identifier that cannot practically be guessed, but a link you share can be passed on. Do not upload anything you would not want seen by someone holding the link.
Kadrr's administrators can see uploaded files and account details, to help with support requests and to deal with abuse. They do not browse uploads for any other reason.
Who processes your data for us
| Service | What for |
|---|---|
| Cloudflare (R2 storage, DNS) | Stores uploaded files and serves them behind your link |
| OVHcloud | Hosts our server: the website, the account database and the upload service |
| Brevo | Delivers the sign-in email |
On the Pro plan you can upload to a storage bucket of your own instead. The credentials for it are sent with each upload, used for that upload only, and not stored by us; the files then live with your storage provider under your own terms.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone else unless the law requires us to.
How long we keep it
- On the Free plan, uploaded files are deleted 30 days after upload, and their links stop working.
- Pro uploads are kept until you delete them, or until your account is deleted.
- Sign-in links expire after 15 minutes and work once.
- Your account, and everything linked to it, is kept until you ask us to delete it.
Your choices
- Delete any upload from your account page. The file is removed from storage and its link stops working.
- Sign any device out from the same page.
- To see what we hold about you, correct it, or delete your account with all its uploads, write to hello@itahir.com from the address you sign in with. We will do it within 30 days.
Children
Kadrr is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly hold accounts for them. If you believe a child has an account, write to us and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will say so on this page and update the date at the top. If you have an account and the change affects you, we will email you before it takes effect.
