Screenshot it. Mark it up.
Send the link.
Kadrr freezes your screen, opens a real annotation editor and drops a short kadrr.cc link into your clipboard, in about a second. It also records clips, turns them into GIFs and copies text off anything you can see. What CleanShot X is on a Mac, Kadrr is on Windows.
Three seconds, from the bug to the link.
A QA engineer files twenty reports before lunch. A support agent has to show a customer which field is wrong. Both want the same thing: capture, point at it, paste.
-
Press the key
The whole desktop freezes the instant the shortcut fires. Drag an area, or click a window to take it edge to edge.
-
Point at the thing
An arrow, a numbered step, a box, a blurred email address. Every tool has a single key, so it becomes muscle memory.
-
Paste the link
Upload, and a short kadrr.cc link is already in your clipboard. The person on the other end needs no app and no account.
The screen stops moving the moment you hit the key.
Nothing scrolls away and no tooltip vanishes while you drag, because you are choosing from a still image of the desktop.
Frozen, then framed
The desktop is snapshotted first. What you see while you select is exactly what lands in the file.
A wrong edge is a nudge
Letting go of the mouse does not fire the shot. The selection stays with eight handles, so you fix an edge instead of starting over.
Click to take a window
Click instead of drag and Kadrr adopts the window under the cursor, to its exact bounds.
Every monitor, one surface
Two screens, three, mixed scaling. Drag a selection across the seam as if it were one display.
Kadrr stays out of frame
The app, its tray menu and its recording controls are hidden from its own captures. No stray toolbar in your bug report.
Or bring your own file
Drop images and videos you already have onto the window, or pick them from the tray. Each one comes back as a link.
Ten tools. Ten single keys.
A for an arrow, N for the next numbered step, B to pixelate a customer's email before it leaves your machine. Undo and redo as many times as you like.
Copy the text you can see but can't select.
An error in a dialog, a code in a video call, a line inside a screenshot someone sent you. Press Ctrl+Shift+1, drag over it, and the text is in your clipboard.
- Offline. It runs on the text recognition built into Windows. Nothing is uploaded to read it.
- No extra click. Let go of the mouse and it reads. Lines stay lines.
- Your languages. Kadrr uses the Windows language packs you have installed.
Some bugs need a video. Some need a GIF.
Record the repro instead of describing it. Kadrr writes MP4 on your GPU, so a long recording doesn't turn your fans on, and falls back to the CPU when the GPU can't.
- 3, 2, 1. A countdown over the area you picked gives you time to get ready. Choose 3, 5 or 10 seconds, or none. New
- Pause and resume. Skip the part where you look for the right tab.
- GIF in one click. Turn a recording into a looping GIF for a README, a ticket or a chat that won't play video. New
- Narrate it. Pick a microphone and talk through the steps.
The upload ends with the link already in your clipboard.
No dialog and no copy button to find. Paste it into Jira, Slack or a reply to a customer. They open a clean page with your image or video on it, and nothing to install.
Every capture is still there tomorrow.
Kadrr keeps a list of everything you've taken and uploaded. Copy a link again, reopen a shot to add one more arrow, make a GIF from last week's recording, or show the file in its folder.
- Filter by images, videos, or what has a link.
- Deleted the file? If it was uploaded, restore it from the link.
Small things you notice on day two.
Tray menu
Lives next to the clock. Capture, record, copy text or upload without opening a window.
Shortcuts you choose
Four global keys, each rebindable to whatever your hands already do.
Light and dark
Follows your Windows theme, or stays on the one you prefer.
Your save folder
Point it at a synced drive or a project folder, and every capture lands there.
Starts with Windows
Quietly, in the tray. No window thrown at you on every boot.
Nothing to set up
Recording needs ffmpeg. If it's missing, Kadrr fetches a tested build itself.
Your own bucket
On Pro, uploads can go to your S3 or R2 storage, so the files stay on your infrastructure.
Two languages
The whole app in English or Azerbaijani, switchable in Settings.
Free is a real plan. Pro is for all day, every day.
The app is the same on both, every tool included. What changes is how much you upload and how long the links live.

Capturing, editing and recording never need an account. You sign in only to upload, so your links count against your plan and not someone else's.
Before you install.
Which Windows does it run on?
Windows 10 and Windows 11, 64-bit. Recording uses the GPU encoder when your graphics card has one and the CPU when it doesn't.
Windows says it "protected your PC". Is that normal?
Yes, for now. Kadrr's installer is not code-signed yet, so SmartScreen does not recognise it. Choose More info, then Run anyway. The download comes straight from our own server.
Do the people I send links to need Kadrr?
No. A link opens a plain web page showing the image or video, with a download button. No app, no account.
Where do my captures go?
Into a folder on your computer, which you choose. Nothing leaves your machine until you press Upload. Uploaded files are stored in the cloud, or on Pro in an S3 or R2 bucket of your own.
What happens to a link after 30 days?
On the Free plan the uploaded file is deleted and the link stops working. Your local copy is untouched. Pro links are permanent.
Does copying text send my screen anywhere?
No. Text is read on your computer by the recognition engine built into Windows. For letters outside English, add that language in Windows Settings → Time & language → Language.
Is there a Mac version?
No. Kadrr is built for Windows on purpose. On a Mac, CleanShot X already does this job well.
Stop cropping screenshots in Paint.
Install Kadrr, press one key, and your next bug report is a link.
